Check out our Current Projects...

Project Graduation - Columbia State Community College’s Beta Kappa Theta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Participated in the Honor Society’s Project Graduation - Feed a Body. Feed a Mind which took place from mid-April through the beginning of May. The mission of Project Graduation is to battle the social issues of hunger and low literacy rates by collecting non-perishable food items and books during college commencement season.  The items are distributed to those in need through community relief agencies and literacy organizations. PTK members distributed collection boxes in mid-April.  Columbia State’s graduating class of 2009 was asked to bring items to graduation rehearsal on May 11, the final day of the project.  The students collected a total of 659 food items and 424 children’s books. The items collected will go to The Family Center in Maury County, a non-profit child abuse prevention agency. The agency services the community through a variety of programs from parent education classes to case management services.

We Did It! -  Columbia State’s Phi Theta Kappa has successfully raised $1000.00 for the Blood: Water Mission! Every $1000.00 donated to the Blood: Water Mission provides enough funds to build a fresh-water well that will provide clean water to an entire community in Africa for years to come! Thanks to everyone who helped us reach our goal. For more information, please visit www.bloodwatermission.com.
