Advising and Registration Notice:
All students have a faculty advisor assigned to them. To find your assigned advisor, select the "My Advisor" link under the “Student” TAB in your ChargerNet to see your Primary Advisor.
Important Notice:
Degree seeking students who registered for the FIRST TIME during the Spring 2009 semester will be unable to register for Summer 2009 and/ or Fall 2009 classes until they have met with their faculty advisor.
It is critical to schedule a meeting with the faculty advisor as soon as possible. Each advisor has several student advisees, so appointments should be scheduled immediately. If an advisor is not listed under “My Advisor”, please contact the Academic Success Center at (931) 540–2575.
Educational decisions are ultimately the student's responsibility; however, it is important for every student to receive academic advising to ensure the best possible choices are made. Students must complete all admissions requirements, complete college orientation and meet with an advisor to register for classes.
New students may be advised by Academic Success Center staff or extended campus staff. Students should contact the ASC or extended campuses to schedule advising appointments. Evening advising is available on the Columbia campus in Warf 237.
Students are responsible for:
- knowing the graduation requirements for their major
- obtaining requirements for transfer and graduation at the senior institution to which students plan to transfer
- making appointments with advisor and keeping them
- knowing important dates such as changes to class schedules, deadlines, drop/withdrawal, etc
- consulting with instructors or advisor for referrals to college resources when experiencing academic difficulty
